We grew up 9 miles apart and wound up meeting 2,000 miles from home.
Gaby and Jonathan almost never met. It was her first blind date and she was a bit nervous. But, Gaby agreed to drinks since they were both from the North Shore of Chicago. His grandmother even taught at her elementary school so she figured, at the very least, he probably wasn’t a serial killer.
After some effortless conversation (and a lot of margaritas), the nerves melted away. They both agreed that Beinlich’s burgers were the greatest food on the planet, and that Jason Robert Brown was criminally underrated. It was bashert!
Since then, they’ve spent their time together seeing theatre, suffering through Bulls games, dining at new restaurants, obsessing over fantasy football, falling asleep to Friends, and pouring each other generous glasses of wine. They can't wait for their wedding day when they'll vow to spend the rest of their lives continuing to do all of those things.
